In plain words
Autonieer uses AI to propose designs. You are always told when content is AI-generated.
Its output is a concept design. It is not a certified construction document and not proof that anything complies with a building code. A qualified professional must review it before anyone relies on it.
1.How AI is used
When you describe a building, a large language model (currently OpenAI's open-weight gpt-oss-120b model, served by Groq, Inc.) interprets your brief: it works out the rooms, sizes and relationships you asked for, may ask up to four clarifying questions, and proposes a layout. A deterministic, rule-based solver — not the AI — then turns that proposal into exact geometry: walls, doors, windows and rooms in whole millimetres. The same applies when you ask the AI to revise a design.
If the AI provider is unavailable, a simpler rule-based planner produces the design instead, and the app tells you which engine ran.
2.Transparency
- AI-generated designs and summaries are labelled as such in the app, including which engine produced them.
- Assumptions the AI made — anything it had to decide because the brief didn't say — are listed explicitly rather than implied.
- Before you see it, the AI's written summary is checked against the actual drawing (room counts, storeys, areas, dimensions). Claims it can't support — and any statement about codes, permits, budgets or addresses — are removed.
- If you ask for something beyond a limit (for example more than 120 storeys), the result says so; your numbers aren't silently changed.
3.What AI output is — and isn't
Output is an AI-assisted concept design for early-stage exploration. It is not:
- a certified, stamped or sealed construction document;
- a structural, geotechnical, fire, energy, acoustic, drainage or accessibility design or assessment;
- evidence of compliance with building codes, zoning or planning rules, fire regulations or accessibility standards;
- a cost estimate, survey or valuation.
AI output can be wrong or unsuitable for a particular site, and the same brief can produce different results on different runs.
4.Professional review is required
Before a design is used for construction, a permit or planning application, pricing, a sale, or any decision affecting safety, it must be reviewed, completed and taken responsibility for by an appropriately qualified and, where required, licensed professional (such as an architect or engineer) in the relevant jurisdiction. Autonieer is a tool that supports that professional; it does not replace them.
5.EU AI Act
We design the Service to meet the transparency obligations of Article 50 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689): people are informed when they interact with an AI system, and AI-generated content is identified as such. The Service is not intended for any high-risk use listed in Annex III of the Act. If you publish AI-generated material from the Service, you are responsible for any disclosure that applies to you.
6.Your data and the AI
Prompts and design context are sent to our AI provider only to produce your result. We do not use your private designs to train AI models. [Confirm in the provider's signed data processing addendum that it neither retains prompts nor trains on them.] See the Privacy Policy and Sub-processors.
7.Report a problem
If output is harmful, misleading or clearly wrong, tell us at m.shafih.akbari@gmail.com — it helps us improve the checks.
